egun negotiating the signing of Deportivo La Coruna left-back Filipe Luis, the Brazilian very publicly coveted by Barcelona before the beginning of the current season.
According to the report, Filipe Luis will share the left-back duties with Marcelo next season and the conversations for the Brazilian's signature have already begun. The player's clause for rescinding his contract is upward of €20 million, but Los Blancos are reportedly unwilling to pay such a high amount for the former Madrid youth product, instead hoping to negotiate a fee in the range of €16m.
In the summer of 2006, the Brazilian cost the Galician side €2.2m and if sold today, he would earn the club more than eight times as much.
Filipe Luis has implicitly expressed his desire to leave Depor and has billed Madrid as an attractive destination. The left-back had one of his best matches in a Depor shirt midweek, playing in multiple positions on the pitch, scoring a goal and providing an assist in the team's 2-2 draw with Valencia in the Copa del Rey.
